Meet Our Music Director
Megan E.S. Tousley
Megan E.S. Tousley is a dedicated music educator and conductor from Columbus, Ohio. She began her musical career as an oboist and quickly expanded her musical interests, becoming Dublin Coffman High School’s first sophomore field commander and performing with several youth and community orchestras.
Megan earned her Music Education degree in 2017 from The Ohio State University, studying with conductors Dr. Scott Jones, Dr. Russ Mikkelson, and oboe instructor Dr. Robert Sorton. She performed for four years in The Ohio State University Marching Band as a cymbal player, later serving as squad leader and receiving multiple leadership scholarships, including recognition as Student Teacher of the Year. She recently completed her masters in Music Education from Capital University in 2024.
For the past nine years, Megan has served Medina City Schools as Assistant Band Director. She currently directs the Claggett Middle School Orchestras and assists with the high school’s concert, marching, and jazz bands. She is a member of OMEA (Ohio Music Educators Association) and ASBDA (All State Band DIrectors Association)- serving annually in professional development conferences. She enjoys life in Wadsworth, Ohio with her husband and two cats, and spends her free time weightlifting and gardening.
Creative, versatile, and committed to lifelong learning, Megan embraces innovation in music education and values building meaningful connections through the arts. She is excited to share her love of music with the Akron Pops Orchestra community.
